Focused practical work in key Streams
Every afternoon, students will get the opportunity to be involved in one of our exciting streams. Connected with an experienced line manager and gaining practical knowledge in church-based work, the streams are a vital part of the Leadership Academy programme. As well as practical experience, you will also receive teaching and training specifically in your given area.
OUTREACH STREAMS
Buzz Schools Teams - The schools work in Hope City Church has expanded dramatically over the last two years, with the teams being involved in over 30 schools throughout the year, providing classroom courses, assemblies, lunch activities and creative arts courses to both Secondary and Primary school children. As well as working within these schools every day, you will be involved in the running of the Neon Youth and Whizz Kids programmes. Specialist training will be in youth communication and evangelism.
City Hearts - City Hearts is a programme run by Hope City Church, working alongside women with life controlling issues such as drugs, alcohol and eating disorders, in a residential environment. A recent development has also led to City Hearts working on a national government level, providing homes to girls previously caught in the sex trafficking industry. You will get the opportunity to be involved in these projects on a daily basis, seeing broken lives restored. Specialist training will be in mercy and compassion.
CHURCH STREAMS
Media & Worship - One of the core values of Hope City Church is creativity. Currently broadcasting on UCB TV, and having released the first Hope City studio album, the creative department of the church is a hub of activity and energy. You will get the opportunity to work with music, editing, camera work and production, sound and lighting, and in the Hope City Theatre Company. Specialist training will be in creativity.
Church Management - Throughout the year Hope City Church runs national and international events such as Fabulous Conference, The Leadership Summit, She is Fabulous and Night of Honour. The church itself is a thriving six-congregation model with over 1500 people in regular attendance. You will get opportunities to learn new skills in running events, church management and pastoral care, as well as gaining skills in how to build a great church. Specialist training will be in Management and Organisation.
